There’s a common misconception about support.
Most people think support is something we look for after life becomes difficult. We wait until we’re overwhelmed, exhausted, grieving, moving, caring for someone else, or facing an unexpected challenge before we begin searching for help.
But what if we’ve been thinking about creating support all wrong?
One of the guiding principles behind Live Thrive Travel is that creating support before it’s needed can make difficult seasons feel more manageable.
The support we create today often becomes the support we rely on tomorrow. That’s the heart of creating support before it’s needed.
That support doesn’t have to be dramatic.
It doesn’t have to be expensive.
It doesn’t even have to take much time.
It simply has to exist before the difficult moment arrives.

What Does Creating Support Look Like?
People often ask what I mean when I talk about creating support.
To me, support isn’t one thing.
It’s something we build through the choices we make every day.
Sometimes it’s supportive products that quietly make life easier.
Sometimes it’s supportive places where we can slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
Sometimes it’s supportive practices that create stability through simple, repeatable rituals.
None of those things remove life’s challenges.
But together, they help us move through those seasons with a little more steadiness.
Why Tea Became My First Supportive Product
When I started creating products for Live Thrive Travel, I could have begun almost anywhere.
Instead, I created Even Here Herbal Tea, a small ritual designed to help create support before it’s needed.
Not because I believe tea solves difficult seasons.
Because I believe rituals create support.
Making something warm naturally asks us to slow down.
It gives us permission to pause before rushing into the next thing.
For some people, that’s a cup of hot herbal tea.
For others, it might be iced herbal tea on a warm afternoon.
Some don’t even care for tea so maybe your ritual is coffee.
Maybe it’s lemon water.
Maybe it’s sitting on your porch before the day begins.
The drink itself isn’t the point.
The ritual is.
Because every ritual is an opportunity to create support before it’s needed.
Support Is Personal
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that support doesn’t look the same for everyone.
Your version of support may not look exactly like mine.
That’s okay.
The goal isn’t to copy someone else’s routine.
The goal is to discover what helps you feel more grounded, prepared, and cared for.
For one person, support might be keeping a beach chair packed in the car so saying “yes” to a sunset walk is easier.
For someone else, it may be a favorite local bookstore, a restorative weekend away, or a simple evening routine that creates space to breathe.
What matters isn’t the activity.
What matters is that it quietly supports the season you’re in.
Start Before You Need It
If there’s one idea I hope you’ll take away, it’s this:
Don’t wait until life becomes overwhelming to begin creating support.
Start today.
Choose one small ritual.
One thoughtful product.
One supportive place.
One everyday practice.
Your future self will thank you.
Because creating support before it’s needed is one of the greatest gifts we can give our future selves.
